Documentary Filmmaking: Bringing the Story to Life with DeSiree' Fawn

Teens are invited to join filmmakerDeSiree’ Fawnfor acrash course in documentary filmmaking offered by the Sun Valley Center for the Arts on Saturday & Sunday, February 9 & 10.

 Students will learn how to conduct an interview and build a story around that interview. Over the course of the weekend each student will create a short (3 to 5 minutes long) documentary spot. A free screening of the films will be presented at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, Ketchum, on Wednesday, February 13 at 5:30 pm.

 Desiree’ is a recent graduate of The New School’s innovative Media Studies graduate program in New York City. In her first documentary, The Phantom Wolves of Sun Valley, DeSiree’ explored the conflict over wolves in her Idaho hometown. The film screened at numerous festivals and won several awards. With her new production company, Fawn Films LLC, she is currently working on a documentary about wild horses.

The workshop will meet at The Center, Hailey, from 10 am to 4 pm each day. Fee is $10 and advance registration is required.
