Well, the much-needed smokeless days of September are once again back with a vengeance here -- and so is this week's unabashedly exciting and eclectic array of music offerings.

On Thursday afternoon in Hailey (from 2:30-6:30), at the Hailey Farmers Market ( http://www.wrfarmersmarket.org ), the very talented Gary Braun will be the featured musical attraction there this week. And also on Thursday, at Bellevue's Silver Dollar Saloon (101 S. Main St./ 788-2900) from 5-7 p.m., the Bermuda Cowboys will be this week's musical offering at THAT venerable south Valley location. (Slow Children Playing takes the stage at 9:30 on Friday there at The Silver Dollar). Meanwhile on Thursday evening, at Hailey's Sun Valley Brewery (202 N. Main/788-0805), the seriously rockin' and rolickin' Slaughter Daughters band ( http://www.reverbnation.com/slaughterdaughters / http://www.Facebook.com/slaughterdaughtersband ) will be kicking things up there, with music slated to start around 8:45 or so.

On Friday (Sept. 28), music gets underway at 7 p.m. at Ketchum's The Red Door bar & restaurant (in the 511 Building), when acclaimed classic rock & contemporary blues man John Djasran ( http://www.Facebook.com/john.djasran ) returns for another gig there (he'll be there on Saturday once again as well).

Also 8 p.m. on Friday night, one of the Wood River Valley's most-beloved and longest-running bands, one that had people at "Ketch'em Alive!" sooo totally stoked this past summer that some of them there at Forest Service Park were literally SLAM dancing to those seriously phat beats they were pumping there -- The Heaters ( http://www.MySpace.com/5bheaters ) -- will be the featured musical attraction at the 3rd annual Fur Ball taking place at Whiskey's (251 N. Main/726-5291 http://www.WhiskeyJacques.com ) at 8 p.m., with ($20) ticket sales from the event going to the Wood River Animal Shelter ( http://www.AnimalShelterwrv.org ). Jeff Crosby & the Refugee All-Stars ( http://www.JeffCrosbyMusic.com ) will be the musical offering there at Whiskey's on Saturday evening (music slated to start around 9 p.m.). $5 cover.

On Saturday evening, at Ketchum's The Sawtooth Club ( http://www,SawtoothClub.com / 231 N. Main/726-5233), another musical event definitely worth making time for is Nashville-based singer-songwriter-guitarist Ned Evett ( http://www.Nedevett.com / http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Evett ), a terrific musician who's currently on-tour promoting his latest album ("Treehouse") and one whom USA Today called "The Master of the glass-necked guitar." Evett has toured and/or shared the stage with a number of musical phenoms (George Thorogood, Johnny Lang, Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson among them), and we're extremely fortunate to have him in our midst here this coming weekend. No cover.

On Sunday, up at Redfish Lodge ( http://www.RedfishLake.com /774-3536), Utah-based singer-guitarist Matt Cifrese will be returning for another gig up there (as part of the day's "Sawtooth Splash" festivities at the lake), with music slated to start around 4 p.m. (until 6 or so).

And finally on Sunday, up at the Sun Valley Resort's Duchin Room (622-2145), the Leana Leach Trio (featuring Leach on piano, as well as John Northrop on guitar and Jason Vontver on drums), will be seriously kickin' it there, from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. (The John Northrop Trio will be seriously kickin' it there on Monday evening, from 9 p.m.- 1 a.m.)

And that's just some of the musical fun that eagerly awaits avid music-loving residents and visitors alike this week in the Wood River Valley; enjoy!!!  :)
