HOLDING LIGHT by Lawrence Fodor is a composition of a chromatic scale consisting of 81 panels, each seven inches square. Viewer's eyes sweep from corner to corner, reading horizontally, vertically and diagonally the subtle changes of color. Fodor created this intriguing assemblage by formulating the exact color protocols for each panel to exactly reflect its position in the chromatic scale. Further intrigue is each panel contains between 2500 to 4900 "points of light" ---- tiny geometric shapes that evolved as Fodor painted channels of color with a small brush.
HOLDING LIGHT is one work in the exhibition, INFINITE SEQUENCE, that features works by Lawrence Fodor and Chris Richter, on view through 31 January. Gallery hours are 10:00 AM- 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday, 10:00 - 5:00 Saturday, 11:00- 4:00 Sunday and always by appointment. friesengallery.com, 208.726.4174 Like Us on Facebook!
