In April of 2007, singer/songwriter Jonathan Warren packed up his life, and his guitar to move from Knoxville, Tennessee to the Northwest. He brought with him strong roots in traditional blue grass and old-time music inherent in the Southern Appalachians. While playing gigs and open-mic nights around Boise, Idaho, Warren met and soon after teamed up with David Sather-Smith, a vocalist and classically trained cellist. Dave and Jon’s musical relationship progressed over the next couple years. Boise native, Austin Clark, added his talents on the violin and soon became a crucial member of the Billy Goats. The trio met, Andrew Smith, a San Francisco grown drummer and percussionist who finalized the band in 2011. The band has since been based in Boise, Idaho and has been steadily gigging and touring.
