Friesen Gallery opens the holiday season with a group exhibition, highlighting oil paintings by Ford Crull. A brilliant colorist, his works are invigorating meditations on the ever-shifting nature of human awareness and perception. Incomplete statements evoke the unspoken thought; single words function in multiple languages simultaneously; symbols remind us of their many connotations. These broad layers of culture which inform the work invite the viewer’s subjective contemplation.
The exhibition will be on display 21 November – 15 December. Gallery walk is 23 November, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
